2018 British Wildlife Photography Awards

6th November 2018 - 6th January 2019

We are again delighted to be the first out of London venue showing the very latest British Wildlife Photography Awards exhibition. As ever it promises to showcase the very best in nature photography exclusively highlighting the flora, fauna and environments of the British Isles.

Chris Packham, TV presenter and naturalist says;
"Each year the British Wildlife Photography Awards generates an incredible catalogue of splendid, exciting, imaginative and artistic images, proving beyond a doubt that we have the richest palette of life to celebrate in our own backyard. Anyone passionate about protecting and preserving wildlife will be inspired by the British Wildlife Photography Awards, which has done more than any other award to raise the profile of British wildlife".

Mark Carwardine, zoologist, writer, photographer, environmentalist and broadcaster is equally enthusiastic, saying; "The annual publication of the British Wildlife Photography Awards has become one of the much anticipated events in the wildlife photography calendar. Look at this year's faboulous collection and you will see that wildlife photographers are working harder than ever before, striving to capture a wider range of subjects, locations and styles, tackling increasingly difficult species and behaviours and shooting familiar ones in unfamiliar and more imaginative ways".

The diversity of subject matter is presented in different categories - Animal Behaviour, Animal Portraits, Botanical Britain, Nature in Black and White, Habitat, Coast and Marine, Hidden Britain, British Seasons, Urban Wildlife, Close to Nature, Wild Woods, Documentary plus categories for young photographers and HD video. Those keen on taking photographs themselves can read all the technical data with each image as well as a description of the scene.

Through evocative and powerful imagery, this exhibition is not only a celebration of the photographers' skill, the photographs can help encourage greater awareness, discovery, exploration, conservation and enjoyment of our natural heritage.

A stunning hardback book has been produced to accompany the exhibition which, together with a range of other BWPA merchandise, is available to purchase from the Nature in Art shop throughout the exhibition.
