Learn how to cook on a wood-fired oven with wood-fired cookery expert David Jones from Manna from Devon.

You’ll use the traditional style brick wood-fired oven as well as our Esse Fire Stone oven. Learn how to get the best from your own oven and how to cook plenty of delicious dishes.

Wood-fired ovens are perfect for pizza but they can do so much more! Learn how to use a wood-fired oven to it’s full potential, including:

  • Pizza: making dough, shaping, topping and baking
  • Fish dishes
  • Roasting meat with herbs from the garden
  • Vegetable dishes
  • Flat breads

Using your oven to maximum effect takes a little getting used to and we’ll discuss many aspects of use:

  • Siting your oven
  • Wood selection
  • Lighting and heating the fire
  • Measuring and controlling temperatures
  • Cooking utensils and other equipment

This class is always sociable, great fun and a very hands-on learning experience. You’ll cook a lot of different dishes during the day and naturally, we have to try them all.
