Usk Open Gardens

Some of the best open gardens anywhere and always a great day out.
27th June 2020 - 28th June 2020

Description

On the last full weekend of June 2020- Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th - around 20 of the private gardens in Usk are open to visitors 10am-5pm, to raise money for local charities.

The gardens range from small cottage gardens to the grand sweep of medieval Usk Castle. All are in walking distance of the car parks and there is a regular mini-bus service around the town (10am - 4.45pm).

Usk is an historic town on the banks of the river Usk just 20 minutes drive from the Severn bridge. Have a picnic on the banks of the river, or there are many great places to eat and drink. The Victorian Courthouse and Rural Life Museum throw their doors open and there is a Gardener's Market, with plants at very reasonable prices.

There is ample parking in the main car parks plus a coach park. All are well signposted. There is also free blue-badge parking at Usk Castle car park.

You can buy your Garden Passport from one of the Maryport St car parks, or in Twyn Square. The gardens are open 10am - 5pm on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June 2020: admission is £7.50 for one day or £10.00 for the whole weekend. Children aged 14 and under are admitted free. Sorry but NGS passes are not accepted. The passport provides a map and description of each garden and advises on wheelchair accessibility for each garden and whether dogs are allowed in each garden.

Usk Open Gardens has become a regular pre-Hampton Court RHS venue. If you are organising a tour or group visit, please do contact us via [email protected] to make special arrangements.
