Wye Valley River Festival 2018

5th May 2018 - 20th May 2018

Join international artists and local communities as we celebrate the nation’s favourite river and its wonderful woodlands. It’s a magical series of outdoor events embracing innovative artistic work and creating captivating spaces for wonder and entertainment as the Festival travels down the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in glorious bluebell-laden, new leaf, lime-green Spring!

The theme for this year’s Festival is Woods and Trees. Venture into our Wye Valley woodlands and you will soon understand why we want to talk about trees.  27% of the AONB is covered in woodland, bringing amazing benefits to us and the wildlife we share this outstanding landscape with. Did you know that your heart rate and blood pressure will drop when you are surrounded by trees and your stress levels will go down? Or that 500 different species can live in a single old oak tree?  Our artists will be challenging us to think about the vital role trees play in our world.
