Twelfth Night Afternoon Tea

21st January 2018

Lady Nadine had an epiphany when she decided that this year, for the first time  we also celebrate Twelfth Night, the end of Christmas, when the Wise Men gave gifts to the baby Jesus.

There are many celebrations associated with Twelfth Night which include Wassail, Mummers’ Plays and the Lord of Misrule.

As with the Sinterklaas Afternoon Tea there will be festive activities to accompany the taking down of the Christmas decorations.

There will be entertainment, singing and a story from Lady Nadine creating a chance to enjoy the simple fun of Christmas Past.

Christmas is much associated with pantomimes and guests are invited to become traditional characters should they so wish, or may remain as themselves.

In recognition of Old Christmas Day - 5th January - that is before the introduction of the Gregorian Calendar, two dates have been chosen for our Twelfth Night celebrations, Sunday 14 January & Sunday 21 January.
