Carols by Steam Train

9th December 2017

Evening Christmas Carols by Steam Train

Get into the true spirit of Christmas with the railway's annual evening open air 'Christmas Carols by Steam Train' service. It will take place on 9th December departing from Toddington at 7.00pm. This year the event is in aid of the charity Winston's Wish.

Winston's Wish is the UK's childhood bereavement charity and has been supporting bereaved children since 1992. Winston’s Wish supports children and young people after the death of their mum, dad, brother or sister. This is one of the most devastating and sometimes traumatic situations a child can face. However, with the right support at the right time, children can face their future with confidence and hope. For more details about Winston's Wish visit their website

The carol service, with Cheltenham Silver band, will take place under the Christmas lights on the platform at Winchcombe station following arrival of the special train. The service will be led by Rev John Mead.

Mulled wine and mince pies will be served on the train

Put the date in your diary. Tickets will include parking at Toddington Station, the return train fare and the carol service. Tickets will need to be purchased beforehand and will cost £10.00 each. They will be available from the railway’s Booking Office at Toddington Station from next month. See our website closer to the time for more information about ticket sales.

Please note, there will be no car parking at Winchcombe station and the service can only be reached using the special train from Toddington.  Don't forget - the train departs Toddington promptly at 7.00pm!
