With a wealth of varied landscapes, places to see and fascinating history, Herefordshire has more to offer than you think. A county of unspoilt countryside, market towns of distinctive character and a wealth of varied landscapes from a historic City to fascinating villages.
Described as the country’s larder, Herefordshire has so many ingredients for good food. The lush green countryside, red fertile soil and benign climate are a winning combination for tasty, fresh, local produce. Visitors can enjoy eating out in award-winning pubs, restaurants and teashops, or buy local produce at farm shops and regular farmers' markets.
The Visit Herefordshire Centre is located opposite Hereford Cathedral, home to the famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. This recently refurbished centre now acts as an agent for National Express Coaches, the Courtyard Theatre and Yeoman's day trips. Tickets for other shows and events are also on sale throughout the year. The Visit Herefordshire Centre offers a large selection of unique local crafts and gifts; window space is rented for promotional activities.
