Spring Accommodation

Find Your Spring Freedom in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley

…With Our Great Places to Stay this Spring

Embrace the great outdoors by staying in a rural idyll with nature on your doorstep (or outside your tent!) or retreat into a luxurious countryside getaway.

Glamping, Camping and Caravanning

Many of our campsites and glampsites close for the winter and reopen for the spring so this is the perfect season for getting back to nature and enjoying all that the great outdoors has to offer.

In a hidden valley, within 80 acres of meadow and woodland lies Hidden Valley Yurts glamping site and The Lake House. With five authentic Mongolian yurts and a luxurious lakeside holiday home, this site is perfect for those who want to get back to nature but not give up their creature comforts. The night sky is so dark you can see the Milky Way and the only noises are a babbling brook and birdsong. Idyllic, peaceful and totally private, the glamping site reopens on 3rd April and The Lake House is available year-round. On Easter Sunday the annual guest egg hunt is always enjoyed by the many families especially because so many more eggs are hidden than the children expect making for heavy baskets at the end. Currently yurts 2 and 3 and The Lake House are available for Easter weekend and there is mixed availability at other times.

New this spring, for the ultimate in quality and character, stay in the absolutely stunning new luxury treehouse The Hudnalls Hideout hidden in the hills above the Wye Valley. Painstakingly hand crafted it offers 360° tree top canopy views over two levels, from its lush living space and dramatic circular raised deck to its king size handmade loft bed on the mezzanine level reached via a sweeping staircase fashioned around a cedar tree trunk. The décor is luxurious but cosy, and you can birdwatch or stargaze, cook in the pizza oven or hire a chef. No detail has been overlooked.

Seven Hills Hideaway Glamping offers three beautifully appointed, large canvas safari tents, each sleeping up to six guests and each with their own hot tub, log-burning stove, BBQ and ensuite facilities. Set alongside a small working farm, guests will find friendly alpacas, goats, ponies, sheep and chickens. Seven Hills Hideaway is the perfect place to relax, unwind and escape for families, couples and groups alike, whether first-time or experienced glampers!

For a rural campsite surrounded by nature this spring, Bracelands Camping in the Forest has got it all. Nestled among majestic oaks, stunning copper beech and tall pine trees with panoramic views of the countryside and the Wye Valley a short walk away, it’s the perfect spot for getting to know our beautiful area. There are pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes plus five camping pods. With activities from Forest of Dean Adventure on site including archery, a high ropes course and an assault course as well as miles of woodland paths all around this is the perfect location for active outdoorsy types.

Mad Dogs and Vintage Vans reopens in time for Easter as well. Their three vans are called Monty, Gertie and Sybil and are ideal for families looking for a rural getaway. All vans have woodburning stoves to keep glampers warm and toasty. There is a van service providing homecooked meals and a range of holistic treatments too. The glampsite is eco-friendly and all about going back to nature, in fact it is surrounded by nature with cow parsley and wild flowers on your doorstep. There is also a tennis court exclusively for guests too, just bring your own rackets and balls! Read a blog post about a stay here by Claire from Weekend Candy here
