In the shadow of Symonds Yat Rock, this 15th Century farmstead, set in 80 acres of pastureland, at the mouth of a beautiful gorge beside the River Wye, is perfect for family holidays or romantic retreats.
There are six holiday cottages each with their own individual charm and character sleeping between 2-7 people. We offer guests salmon & coarse fishing, while nearby canoeing, bicycle tracks and other outdoor activities make this a perfect location for both family and romantic breaks. Located in one of the most rural parts of the Wye valley, these holiday cottages are nevertheless excellently placed to explore the Forest of Dean, nearby historic towns or mountains and castles of the Welsh Borders. Come and enjoy a well deserved break away from it all.
Mainoaks Farm is a heavily beamed former Hall House converted in 1659 to the farmhouse, now Peregrine and Cider Mill cottages, and the former Malthouse and Stabling providing the four further cottages all with exposed beams in most rooms and oil fired central heating making Mainoaks Farm Cottages a truly historic and peaceful location for our guests. Mainoaks still has the beautifully preserved cider mill and press for all to see, and all with superb views over the River Wye and surrounding countryside.
Mainoaks Farm is the ideal location for groups, family reunions, parties and celebrations. We can accomocate up to 27 people and are happy to take multi-cottage bookings to accommodate the larger party.
