Heritage Open Days in the Forest of Dean

Just when everyone thinks summer is coming to an end there is still plenty to do in and around the Forest of Dean area.

Heritage Open Days celebrates its 25th year since its inception in 1994 and every year gives us more opportunities to learn about our heritage and culture.

This year’s programme in the Forest of Dean runs from 13 to 23 September 2019 and features 49 different events offering 124 opportunities to learn something about the rich heritage of our fantastic area.

There are opportunities to ring bells, go on guided walks, visit archaeological sites, or just sit quietly and absorb the information in a talk, even see video footage of what it is like to be a Freeminer.

Leaflets are available all over the area or you can download the programme. Otherwise go on to Heritage Open Days 2019 national website and look under the Forest of Dean Council area section for even fuller descriptions of what to find in our amazing part of the United Kingdom.
