All the Sex Education Series Two Filming Locations
Series two of popular Netflix show Sex Education hit our screens on 17th January 2020 and we were thrilled to see so many more Forest of Dean and Wye Valley locations featured.
Since its launch a year ago interest in the beautiful scenery which features heavily in the show has captured many viewers. Jean and Otis live in a beautiful riverside home which is in Symonds Yat overlooking the River Wye below. The characters walk and cycle through Tintern, Llandogo and Brockweir, and their homes and shops are throughout the area too.
With the launch of series two there has been considerable guess work as to where the new locations are, and many press articles. We can confirm that Redbrook Bridge is used in one key scene. The Dean Forest Railway is used in several, plus there's St Briavels, Monmouth and Symonds Yat West.
Producer Jon Jennings scoured the UK for a location which captured "that John Hughes influence of green and happiness to it,” and eventually found everything they needed in South Wales and the Wye Valley.
“We struck gold with Jean’s house,” Jennings says. “It’s insane. We were driving around and we just saw it at the other side of the valley. We found this house and literally knocked on the door!”
The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley have of course featured in several other TV and film productions. Harry Potter, Merlin, King Arthur, Dr Who and Star Wars were all shot here and our dramatic landscapes and ancient forests have inspired many location scouts and directors.
