On Sunday 13th August Taurus Crafts hosts its second ‘Ukulele Day’ event at their popular Lydney based visitor centre. The event is free to enter and there is no charge for parking. The marquee area hosts selection of the regions finest Ukulele talent including; The Gloucester Strings, Forest Uke3A, The Ukes uv Azzard, The Pukes, The Buskuleles of Usk, and The Ukuladies. In the Buskers tent will be the talents of the Lydney Music School students, and local duo ‘Lightly Twned’ plus more to be announced.

In between the live music setts visitors can visit the mini market sample a thirst quenching pint of local beer from Castles Brewery or local cider from James McCrindle as well as browsing for second-hand vinyl, collectibles, music paraphernalia and you can even buy a Ukulele from Hannah’s Music Stall. Local barbecue fair will be cooked fresh to order and features delicious local burgers and sausages from Cowshill Farm.

Guest traders at Taurus Crafts for the summer, Forest & Wye Ice Cream, will be selling their incredible range of local, seasonal, and liqueur based ice creams in the garden café. If visitors are feeling inspired by the performances they can even try their hand at playing a ukulele with Trevor Davies of Lydney Music School, the free taster sessions happen from 1pm-2.30pm. Keeping the kids entertained is no problem as the ‘make a Hawaiian Lei necklace’ workshops are free to all and run from 12-4pm.
