Wales chef Chris Harrod auctions exclusive box of chocolate for charity

Michelin star chef owner of The Whitebrook Restaurant with Rooms, Chris Harrod is auctioing an exclusive box of handmade chocolates.

The Whitebrook Restaurant with Rooms chef, Chris Harrod is taking part in Chocs for Chance which sees top UK chefs create and auction a box of chocolates to raise money for Galvin’s Chance.

Chris’ chocolates will be flavoured using the ingredients from the surrounding woodlands and hedgerows of the Wye Valley around his restaurant where he forages for produce. Highlights will include a dark chocolate ganache flavoured with maritime pine and a hazelnut praline with meadowsweet rolled in roasted hazelnuts and dipped in dark chocolate.

Chris is one of a number of high profile chefs and chocolatiers including Galvin’s Chance co-founder Chris Galvin, Tom Kerridge, Phil Howard and Paul A. Young who have donated a beautifully presented box of chocolates to raise money for the ‘into work programme’ which helps disadvantaged young people to secure employment in the hospitality industry.

This Valentine’s Day you can give both the gift of chocolate to a loved one and give a young person the chance to change their life by bidding for an exclusive box of chocolates.

The online auction runs from 26th January to 5th February via the Chocs for Chance website, where descriptions of each box can also be found. Auction boxes will be sent by courier to the winners in time for Valentine’s Day.
