Eat & Drink

The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is a primary producer of top quality food and drink. Everything from cider, wine, artisan beer and cheeses, Gloucester Old Spot bacon and smoked Severn salmon, to organic juices and vegetables, free range chickens and eggs.

It is distributed locally and nationally and awaits every visitor. Many of our food producers have onsite shops, and produce can be found at regular Farmers' Markets and other outlets throughout the area.

The Abergavenny Food Festival is held annually on the third weekend in September and the Forest Food Showcase is held annually at Speech House on the first Sunday in October. The Flavours of Herefordshire food festival takes place on August Bank Holiday weekend in the heart of Hereford, while the Monmouthshire Food Festival takes place in May and October at Caldicot Castle. With lots of food stalls and demonstrations, these events offer great opportunities to try food and drink the area has to offer.

All the establishments listed in this section of the website are inspected and rated under the National Scores on the Doors Food Hygiene Scheme and you will see the current rating on their individual pages.  The minimum rating of 2 Stars must be achieved in order to be a member of our Association and listed on this website.
