Deanwood Caravan and Campsite, re-opened in 2016 as an 'Adult Only' site, is ideally situated for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and anyone looking for a quiet peaceful caravan or camping holiday in a picturesque setting.
On a clear day the views from our site are stunning, reaching over the Forest of Dean to the Brecon Beacons in Wales. The Forest of Dean, a natural playground with miles of footpaths and cycle paths, borders our site and gates from the camping field and from near the hard standing pitches give you access straight into the forest. Deer are often seen in the early morning and at dusk. Sometimes the elusive white deer is also spotted by our guests.
On site we have new, heated Shower and Toilet blocks with free showers, a Washing-Up and Laundry Room with fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble drier.
Altogether we have 40 pitches - 20 pitches with electric hook-up for caravans and motor homes, and 20 grass tent pitches, some which also have electric hook-ups.
Dogs, with well-behaved owners who keep them on a lead and who pick up after them, are very welcome. We now have a fenced exercise field where dogs can be left off the lead (at owners' descretion). And the Forest is right next door with miles of footpaths to be sniffed out.
Deanwood Caravan and Campsite is within easy walking distance of the village of Yorkley which has 2 dog-friendly Pubs, one of which also serves meals, 2 Shops, and a Post Office. The many Attractions and Activities on offer in the Forest of Dean are all within a 20 minute drive. 'Go Ape' and the way-marked cycle trails are only 2 miles away, cycles can be hired locally and we also have a locked shed for your own cycles.
