Resilient Woodlands Retreat

Experience the beauty and seclusion of a traditional coppice woodland staying in luxury woodsman's cabins. Stunning views over the Severn estuary from our peaceful woodland on the edge of the Forest.

Self-Catering in or near St Briavels - 2 units each sleeping 2 to 4

Description

After 3 years of planning, design and crafting, our bespoke Woodsman’s Hut and Coppice Cabin are now open for bookings. We look forward to sharing our woodland stay experience with our first guests from April 2020.

Both the Woodsman’s Hut and Coppice Cabin are ‘luxury in nature’ – they are handbuilt in wood to our own high spec eco-design and located in an elevated setting at the woodland edge. There are woodland views from each hut, even from the bed, and the outside seating areas provide spectacular long-range views south over the adjacent field meadow and the River Severn to the Cotswolds.

For wildlife enthusiasts there are resident owls, woodpeckers and deer and badgers are occasionally seen. The area is also well known for bats and butterflies and our long term rotational coppicing activity has increased biodiversity which is also encouraged by installation of bat and bird boxes.

Each cabin sleeps 2 to 4 people in Eco Luxury with king size bed, en suite bathroom, kitchen, wood burner and double futon sofa bed. Stunning outside seating/dining area with BBQ & swing seat. The cabin is a generous 3.3m wide and 11m long encompassing:

  • A separate bedroom with a walk around king-sized bed with excellent access to both sides, organic luxury mattress and pillows, bed linen and quilt. LED mood lights and underfloor heating with a view from the bed over the wooded scarp running down to the Severn estuary.
  • A generous kitchen area containing induction hob, small convection oven & microwave, super quiet eco fridge, Butler sink with mixer tap with hot and cold water, kettle, pots & pans, cutlery and crockery for 4 people, glasses, views to die for!
  • Living area with 1.5m double French doors to outside, 208cm long double bed futon sofa, Wood Burning stove, drop leaf oak table and benches which also double up as occasional tables for the sofa, underfloor heating.
  • Bathroom/Wet room with generous 90cm doorway to a walk-in wet room shower end with mains pressure hot water, bathroom sink and mirror with hot & cold water, toilet with high level window across woodland meadows, heated towel rail.
  • Beautiful outdoor seating area with table and chairs, fire pit and Weber pro master BBQ and some of our own Flaming Excellent sustainable BBQ charcoal (if required).

This is a new development and we are now accepting booings from April 2020.  This page and the pictures will be updated as the build moves to completion.
