Description

Welcome to our new luxury self-catering holiday home. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, with a large deck overlooking a private lake, a stream running alongside and woodland behind, The Lake House is a peaceful retreat for those looking to get back to nature without leaving modern conveniences behind.

  • Inside you will find everything you expect from a modern house, including large comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a spacious living and dining area.
  • Outside a covered veranda running the full length of the building leads onto a huge double-deck allowing for sunbathing, BBQs and stargazing. The views are simply breathtaking, surrounded by our 80 acres of woodland and meadow and that serene lake next to it.

Whether you’re looking for a restful break, a family holiday or to explore this stunning region we hope that The Lake House will be your chosen home away from home.

The Accommodation

The Lake House is a single story building and offers two large bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), a large open-plan living/dining space and a modern kitchen. The full length of the front of the building opens onto the decking overlooking the lake, with double doors to the living area and both bedrooms meaning that you can lie in bed, sit on the sofa or dine at the table and watch the water rippling on the lake and the breeze blowing in the trees.

The Lake House is fully equipped with all modern amenities. In the lounge there is a log burner (wood provided), a large sofa bed and other chairs, a TV and DVD player and there is WiFi access (not available on the glamping site) as well as a built-in USB charging point. We also provide a wide range of board games and toys. The kitchen has all the modern appliances and utensils you would expect and there is a dining table and seating.

The master bedroom has an en-suite with shower, and there is a main bathroom with full size bath as well.

Outside there is a covered veranda and two-level deck overlooking the lake with a table, loungers, plenty of seating and a BBQ grill.

No detail has been overlooked in this luxurious holiday home. We have carefully designed this house with you in mind so that your holiday is as relaxing, easy and trouble free as possible.

The Renovation work

Originally a cricket pavilion, the building had fallen into disrepair and was uninhabitable. We took on the task of restoring it in 2017 and have lovingly and tastefully refurbished it throughout. Where possible we have used locally sourced wood including oak, sweet chestnut and larch, giving The Lake House a rustic charm which complements its natural surroundings. We have paid great attention to detail using high quality materials throughout and finishing to an extremely high standard.

Things to do

Just a short walk from the car park, once at your Lake House holiday home you have the freedom to do as you wish. Stay put, relax, book one of the on site activities, explore our 80 acres of land from one of the many footpaths nearby, or make the most of the beautiful Wye Valley on our doorstep and the many activities and attractions available here.

For that added little bit of luxury:

  • Hot tub anyone? The Lake House is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of bubbly surrounded by bubbles! Hot tubs can be hired from local company Hot Tubs Rock for as little as 1 day. They can install prior to your arrival and set everything up ready for you to hop in. They cannot be placed on the decks but there is plenty of ground around The Lake House for them to be placed on.

Opening Times

Check ins are on a Monday or Friday and full week bookings are available. The Lake House is available all year round including Christmas and New Year and is cosy and warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
