Description

Hillside Brewery was launched in 2014 on a stunning 40-acre farm, where we converted the old dairy info a micro-brewery at Holly Bush Farm, off the A40, in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.

We are passionate about beer, our aim is to make real ales to be proud of that are distinctive, brewed consistently and served within the Forest and Gloucestershire. We would also love to become one of the go-to destinations in Gloucestershire with the range of activities and events we offer on site.

There are six main Hillside Ales plus small batch craft specials, seasonal and celebration brews. They take their names from the character and legends of Holly Bush Farm. They range from a lager to a porter, so we are sure we will have a beer for you - if not there is also a fully stocked bar.

We want to share our passion for beer, brewing and having fun so have a read of what we offer below.

We run regular brewery tours where you can find out about how the different ingredients relate to the brewing process, tour around our picturesque brewery and see how we operate all aspects of our business on site - from the brewing to the bottling. These tours last approximately 1.5 hours and you get to sample 4 of our of our classic ales.

Like to learn how to brew beer? Well now you can... Brew your own beer experience, with a hands-on full day, learning what it takes to make beer. You will put the mash on, dig it out, weigh the hops and much more. A real must for any beer lover. This is a full day experience, including a locally sourced and seasonal breakfast & lunch, beer tasting, tour of the brewery, brewing day, how to guide to brewing, beer and branded glass to take home.

We also run a range of events throughout the year from beer festivals, beer & food pairings to pop-up opera - check out what is coming up and book yourself a spot. As well as the events, we try to open once a month as a brewery tap, or pop up pub if you like in our Hop Barn. We have a lovely heated bar with a 10m bar entertainment such as ping pong and is a great space for any event you can think of from weddings to parties. We would love to see you there.

Multiple activities are hosted on site and can be customised to create your perfect day. Hillside Archery is a great example, imagine combining dodge ball, paintball and archery and you will have a good idea what it is - why not finish it off with a brewery tour?

Even if beer isn't your thing, we have a range of other activities and experiences such as beer pilates for a more relaxed afternoon or try your hand at an Indian cooking experience and beer pairing.

Keep on the A40 and the farm is approx. 100m further on the right. The driveway shares an entrance with a house called Stratville which faces the road. (A detached red brick and cream house) There is a gate a short way along the drive. Go through the gate and up the drive to the farm. The brewery is on the left of the barns at the top of the hill.
