Come and relive the turbulent history of Goodrich Castle, one of the most complete medieval strongholds in Britain. Dramatically set on a rocky outcrop with stunning views over the Wye Valley, it gives a fascinating insight into life in a medieval castle. Explore its12th century keep, 13th century chapel and battlements. Take the free audio tour to get a rare glimpse of a bygone age as you learn about the famous Civil War siege. See ‘Roaring Meg’, the deadly mortar which sealed the castle’s fate. Finally, enjoy a selection of homemade drinks and snacks in the castle café.
