Welcome to the Fountain Inn.
Built 250 years ago, it was extended to provide refreshment and accommodation for travellers, when the Severn and Wye Railway began operating passenger trains to the village in 1875. It is now the oldest surviving building in Parkend, and the many photographs and artefacts which adorn our walls provide a fascinating insight into the history of village life.
Ours is a friendly, family run, village pub that’s well known locally for its excellent meals and real ales. We offer a wide choice of good quality, home-cooked, meals – ranging from steaks to curries and hot-pots. On Sundays, we also run a popular carvery from noon until 3pm.
Almost all of our meat comes from butchers within 4 miles of Parkend and we support many other producers in the Forest of Dean. At the bar you'll even find local real ales on tap, as well as a wide selection of other beers and wines. We welcome families, mountain bikers and walkers.
Well behaved dogs are also welcome in the bar.
