Discover that creative streak by trying a craft course at Humble by Nature, Kate Humble’s working farm and skills centre. There are plenty to choose from, with a focus on taking inspiration from the natural world. You’ll find a variety of print making techniques, working with wool, willow weaving, photography and more.

The willow weaving courses are great for beginners and people who have tried it before. Create stunning pea frames and plant supports for your garden in the spring and summer, weave a willow basket in the summer or a reindeer ready for Christmas!

The beauty of printmaking is the number of different ways you can do it! Create a lino print landscape, or use leaves and flowers in both the Cyanotype Printmaking and the Botanical Printmaking courses. Stay with floral materials and discover Bundle dying with petals on silk.

Spend a day working with wool on the Learn How to Spin and Learn How to Plant Dye courses. Great if you’re a smallholder with your own sheep or if you just enjoy working with natural materials. Get to grips with sorting and carding and try your hand on a spinning wheel. Take it a step further on the Plant Dye course when you’ll use foraged plant materials and store cupboard ingredients to create a range of stunning colours. You’ll take your skeins of spun and plant dyed Welsh yarn home at the end of the day.

Want to get to grips with your camera? Learn how to take beautiful pictures of the Natural World around us with Forest of Dean School of Photography. Or join the Dark Skies Photography course and find out why low light levels and night time is the time to get your camera out, not put it away!
