HOT POT POTTERY - we are a cosy, country pottery offering bookable pottery painting sessions, pottery trial classes, special events & party bookings.

POTTERY PAINTING SESSIONS: These are in our cosy studio and are bookable in advance usually 10-12 or 2-4 Thurs - Sun (less availability some weeks depending on our schedule/special events). To run a session we need at least 4 people but if you are a smaller group/on your own it is worth contacting us to see if others have already booked. Pottery painting is a perfect way to spend creative time with friends and is great for larger groups and parties and we can seat up to 22 people. A basic briefing is given and creative help and encouragement is always on hand. Pottery painting costs £6.50 per person plus the cost of what is chosen from our range (£4.75-£12.50). Once you have painted your pottery it needs to be glazed and fired before it is finished. Collection is possible if you live locally or a firing is due while you are here. If not then delivery is £17.00 for a box to one UK address. We try to fire as regularly as we can.

POTTERY TRIAL CLASSES: Our 2 Hour Pottery Trial Classes are in our cosy studio and are bookable in advance usually 10-12 or 2-4 Thurs-Sun (less availability some weeks depending on our schedule/special events). They are perfect for families, groups or parties and are a great way to celebrate a birthday or hen do. We take 2-8 people and our classes allow the chance to try a range of 3 pottery techniques (including wheel throwing) with a lot of help and encouragement. At the end you can leave up to 4 favourite pieces with us for firing and glazing with our house glazes. Pottery trial classes are £35.00 per head including materials, glazing and firing. Extra pieces left with us will be charged at £2.50-£4.00 per piece depending on size. Collection is possible if you live locally or if a firing is due while you are here. If delivery is required it is a one off cost of £17.00 to one UK address. Firing is usually every 5/6 weeks and takes about a week.

WHEEL THROWING WOKRSHOPS: 1 day courses for those wanting to focus on wheel throwing. Suitable for complete beginners. Bookable certain days in the year.  Small class size, individual attention, lunch included. Visit our Wheel Throwing Workshop page for more information,

OUR STUDIO: Our studio has a woodburner and sofas for colder months and courtyard seating in the summe. We have free WIFI and children and dogs are welcome (as long as others in the studio are happy with dogs).

FOOD & DRINK: We will usually have the coffee machine on during pottery acitivities (so you can order coffe/tea/cold drinks). If you are a group of 4 or more you might be interested in pre-booking a Group Meal with us. We do ask for some consensus on group food choices. Group food orders need to be placed 4 days before your pottery booking and all allergies and intolerance are to be advised when booking.

POTTERY FOR SALE: We also have a range of pottery on display and for sale in our gallery. Our pottery is displayed on furniture rather than plinths, allowing you to handle and choose the pieces you want. There is a wide range of pottery to suit all budgets, all handmade on-site and inspired by the natural woodland surroundings. You can spend time browsing and aksing all sorts of questions. We love to talk about pottery!
