The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is home to a great range of attractions - some man-made, some completely natural but all of them well worth a visit. You may wish to discover the area's history, or enjoy a stroll around a nature reserve.

There’s an array of family oriented attractions where you can all have fun, relax or enjoy some animal magic. On rainy days there’s also plenty to do from museums to caves or how about spending some time riding a steam train through the forest or taking a cruise down the River Wye.

There really is no shortage of ideas for things to see and do in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.


Kingfisher Cruises

Cruise for 40 minutes on the River Wye through the beautiful Wye Valley from Symonds Yat East.

Chepstow Racecourse

Wales' biggest racecourse and the home of the Coral Welsh Grand National. Hosting horse racing and non racing events throughout the year.

Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail

4.5 mile long woodland Sculpture Trail. Enjoy the views from our giant chair and walk underneath a stained glass window hung high in the tree canopy. Free of charge and perfect for all ages.

Elton Carp Lake

Our lakes have some carp over 20lbs and are suitable for the beginner. They are open for day tickets to everyone. The lakes are a lovely place to visit. £7 a day for two rods and £5 for concessions.

Coleford town Council looks after the beautiful parish of Coleford in the Forest of Dean. The Council is supplying a small but informative tourist information centre at its offices in the town centre.

The Shire Hall

The Shire Hall in Monmouth is a beautiful, historic attraction, licensed for Weddings and public entertainment. Open daily for tours of the historic courtrooms and Tourist Information Service.
