Set in the centre of the Royal Forest of Dean, The Speech House Hotel is a landmark building, steeped in history dating back circa 1676. Reputed to be the former Hunting Lodge used by Charles II & Nell Gwynne.
It is now a modern day hotel catering for all of the guests needs.
The Speech House is still home to the Verderers Court,held every 40 days or 4 times per year and is also used for Sunday Lunches, Evening Meals, Private Parties and Wedding Ceremonies and Breakfasts.
The hotel also has The Freeminers Bar,Orangery,and Gardens where light snacks, lunches, high teas or just tea and coffee are served. There are 35 letting rooms all ensuite, with tarriffs to meet all budgets. The Old House has 15 bedrooms two of which boast the largest 4 poster beds in the region.
