Bed and Breakfast in or near Lydney - 2 ensuite rooms

Description

Dean Valley Panorama is set at the top of a hill on the edge of the village of Yorkley. We have a spectacular panoramic view over the Forest of Dean and as far as the Black Mountains in Wales. You will often see spectacular sunsets as we get the sun all day, making it ideal for photographers and artists.

Guests can relax in our private courtyard garden and admire the spectacular views and, (especially Go Apers, kayakers, walkers and cyclists) relax their tired muscles in our huge bath in our double room. We offer a friendly welcome, comfortable quiet nights' sleep, great views and a superb freshly cooked or continental breakfast looking out over the fantastic views of the forest.  You also get good free wireless broadband and a free dedicated parking space.

We are a few minutes walk from the forest making us an excellent guest base for tourists wishing to explore the area but close enough to Lydney and transport links for business travellers. We are located between Chepstow and Gloucester, at the edge of the small village of Yorkley, within easy reach of Cheltenham, Bristol, The Cotswolds, South Wales and the Wye Valley.

Sat Nav Units

Beware that your satellite navigation unit may want to take you to a nearby village called Bream if you only use the street name and select Lydney Road. Some sat navs take you to the correct address if you use Yorkley Lane (this is what it used to be named). This is currently being changed so try to always use the postcode.

From M4 East

  1. Exit M4 at Junction 21 for Chepstow / South Wales ( M48)
  2. Follow M48 for 3 miles until reaching the Severn Bridge Toll station (£6.20 for a car)
  3. Cross the bridge and just as you get over the bridge take the slip road at Junction 2 towards Chepstow ( A48)
  4. At first roundabout turn right towards Chepstow
  5. At next roundabout take the 3rd exit to Chepstow & follow the road downhill passing Tesco supermarket on the right at the bottom of the hill
  6. Continue straight on towards Gloucester (A48) for about 6 miles until you reach Aylburton. Drive through the village
  7. On your left you will see Taurus Crafts and at the next roundabout, leave the A48 and go straight on towards Lydney town. (If you do carry on the A48 towards Gloucester, drive for a few miles around the Lydney bypass until you see a sign to Yorkley on your left)
  8. Drive through Lydney town, past Tescos on your right and Co-op supermarket on the left
  9. You will come to a steep hill out of Lydney. About a mile up the hill, near a row of houses called Crosshands, turn left up Driffield Road (be careful here. It is a narrow lane and cars going up the hill should have priority)
  10. After about 2 miles you will reach a T-Junction. Turn right onto Allaston Road
  11. After about 2 miles at the top of the hill you will arrive at Yorkley and Dean Valley Panorama is the 4th house on the left opposite the 20mph speed sign
