Shop / Shopping in or near Newent

The Old Shambles Shop, set in beautiful 18th century surroundings, is a high class charity shop, selling a tremendous variety of goods including clothing, paintings, china and jewellery as well as electrical items.

On the same site is a high quality second-hand bookstore where you can browse in peaceful surroundings to find just the book you want!

In the shop you will also find a tourist information touch-screen and many interesting leaflets.

There is now a variety of small units behind the shop which house lots of interesting outlets for visitors to browse and perhaps buy that item that they just can’t resist, such as handmade stained glass and painted tiles and garden items, a curiosity shop, a handmade jewelry, wool and craft goods shop, a nearly new children’s outlet and many more, including a superb patisserie and tearoom.  All this is set in the inner cobbled courtyard of several Victorian houses, complete with old forge and a colony of bats!  A visit is well worthwhile!
